The RMA maintains the third-floor annex of West Hall also known as the Music Suite, which includes the following rooms:
Of interest to the RPI community are the practice rooms and the instrument storage room.
The music suite offers four partially sound-proofed practice rooms, each with an upright piano. There are three smaller practice rooms for individuals as well as a larger practice room for small groups. The practice rooms are always available so long as the building is open. The practice pianos are tuned twice a year and repairs are made when needed. Since the RMA is responsible for these rooms and pianos, any question or comment should be sent to us.
The RMA also offers places for instrument storage. The room (328) is normally locked and those who wish to store an instrument in the music suite must sign out a key and a padlock, if a locker is used.
Access to the music suite afterhours is given only to those who store instruments in the music suite. Currently, to take out a key for access to the storage room, you must sign a form indicating $40 will be charged to your Student Account if you lose it. Those interested should contact the Security Officer.
